Jean-Luc Deleersnyder is a seasoned industrial executive with over 25 years of international leadership experience as CEO, Chairman, and board member of major global companies. He served as Group CEO of Sibelco, a global leader in specialty industrial minerals and glass recycling, where he led transformation and growth across Europe and worldwide.
Prior to Sibelco, Jean-Luc held multiple executive roles at Umicore, including Executive Vice-President and member of the Executive Committee, where he oversaw the business group Zinc, engineering, procurement, and HR. He began his career at McKinsey & Company as a management consultant across Europe.
He currently sits on the boards of Finasucre and Fedrus International, and serves as Senior Advisor to Syntagma Capital and Adionics, a clean lithium technology company. He is also a board member at Vlerick Business School.
Jean-Luc holds a Ph.D. in Operations Management and master’s degrees in engineering and industrial management from the University of Ghent. He completed executive education at MIT on sustainability in industry.
