Hugo Schumann is a leader in the mining and metals sector with 20 years of experience across technology commercialization, venture capital, and executive roles at major mining and recycling companies.

He is the Founder and CEO of EverMetal Capital, the world’s first private equity-backed critical metals recycling platform, scaling operations that secure essential minerals for the defense, aerospace, medical, and tech industries. Hugo also serves as CEO – USA for Elemental Group, overseeing a $500M portfolio of e-waste and platinum group metal recycling businesses across ~50 sites nationwide. He holds Non-Executive Director roles at ASX-listed Global Uranium & Enrichment and IonDrive.

Previously, he was CEO – Silver at Hindustan Zinc, one of the world’s largest silver producers, and CFO at Jetti Resources, where he helped grow the company’s valuation more than tenfold and raised $187M in funding. He began his developing and financing resource projects under Apollo Group.

Hugo received the S&P Rising Star Individual Award at the 2022 Platts Global Metals Awards. He holds an MBA from INSEAD, a Bachelor of Business Science from the University of Cape Town, completed the Stanford Executive Program, and is a CFA Charterholder.
